After years of running through just about every restaurant in Santa Marta, we like to think we have found the top 5 eats in the area. Whether you are looking for the best restaurant in Santa Marta or some cheap eats for lunch, we've got you covered.
1. Ouzo
With an amazing setting right in the middle of Parque de los Novios, you can never go wrong with the Mediterranean-inspired Ouzo. The restaurant opened its doors in 2011 providing Santa Marta with a unique dining experience unlike the city had ever seen before. With indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating you will not find a better spot to enjoy your dinner in the city center. It's hard to find something on the menu that won't blow you away. Reservations recommended.

2. El Rego Gastro Pub
Tucked away just one block from Parque de los Novios is one of Santa Marta's best-kept secrets. El Rego Gastro Pub is our go-to spot for a night out filled with live music, cheap drinks, and good grub! You can always count on a great live band at El Rego, something that has been missing from the Santa Marta nightlife scene for quite some time. Great Happy Hour specials from 6-8, and if you are feeling brave you can join us on the wall of champions after munching down the hottest wings Santa Marta has to offer.

3. Taco Beach Bar and Grill
Did someone say tacos? Taco Beach Bar and Grill is THE spot for sunset dinner and drinks in the Santa Marta area. Nestled right on the beach in Taganga, Taco provides the best... you guessed it, tacos in Northern Colombia. Hands down the best spot for sporting events. Catch us there every Sunday during American Football season. Don't feel like leaving this paradise? Taganga Beach Hotel is attached to the restaurant for a good night's sleep.

4. Pachamama
Just a short walk off the beach in Taganga you will find the Bohemian-style Pachamama. In our opinion, the best restaurant when with a big group. Pachamama serves up plenty of tapas plates, as well as main entrees to keep the whole group happy. Their cocktail menu is unique, and a great spot to try something new! Try the Mariscos de Crema, you won't regret it.

5. Maharaja India Restaurante
Looking for a cheap, delicious restaurant in the city center? Maharaja serves up some tasty Indian plates that will leave you full and content. With plates starting at 12,000 COP, you will struggle to find a better bang for your buck in the center. Head down to this little hidden gem for the best Indian food in Santa Marta. Nice vegetarian options.
