Start the motorcycle tour by getting acquainted with the motorcycles with a nice two hour ride from Santa Marta down the sunny coastline to the touristic beach town of Palomino. In Palomino we will grab some of the best pizza in Colombia then spend a bit of time on the beach. After a little siesta we will head back down the coast to our hostel, Rancho Relaxo. Here we will ditch the motorcycles and riding gear in exchange for tubes and swimming suits as we float down the scenic river. After a few hours of relaxing and soaking in the sun we will hop back on the motorcycles and make our way back up the coast to the edge of Parque Tayrona. We will get situated in our hostel and then head out on an amazing 30 minute hike through the jungle to a secluded beach. monkeys and caiman have been regularly spotted on this hike!
We will start day 2 with a ride up into the highest coastal mountain range in the world, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Minca, perched at 650 meters above sea level, is a nature-enthusiast’s dream. Filled with raging waterfalls; thousands of species of animals, insects, and birds; and not to mention one of the best look out points on the northern coast. We will spend the day riding the motorcycles around the dirt roads making stops at some of the local waterfalls and swimming holes, taking a tour of the La Victoria Coffee Plantation and trying a beer from the local brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. We will spend the night at Casa Elemento (when available)
We will wake up early, grab some breakfast in Minca, and hop back on the motorcycles. The third day we will spend a few more hours riding the motos around Minca and seeing a few more sights. We will head back down from Minca just before lunch and return to the hostel around 2:00 pm.
