Start the motorcycle tour by getting acquainted with the motorcycles with a nice two hour ride from Santa Marta down the sunny coastline to the touristic beach town of Palomino, stopping at viewpoints and local eateries for snacks and drinks along the way.
In Palomino we will grab some of the best pizza in Colombia then spend a bit of time on the beach. After a little siesta we will head back down the coast to our hostel, Rancho Relaxo, where ditch the motorcycles and riding gear in exchange for tubes and swimming suits as we float down a river through the jungle. Hope you’re feeling thirsty, because as we float down the river, DRINKS ARE ON US!
After the float, we use local mototaxis to return to our accommodation for the dinner and leisure time at night.
We will start day 2 with a ride up into the highest coastal mountain range in the world, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Minca, perched at 650 meters above sea level, is a nature-enthusiast’s dream. Filled with raging waterfalls; thousands of species of animals and birds; not to mention some of the best viewpoints that northern Colombia has to offer.
We will spend the day riding the motorcycles around the dirt roads making stops at some of the local waterfalls, swimming holes, and business, including an optional tour of the La Victoria Coffee Plantation, as well as a beer from the local, German-owned brewery, Nevada Brewing Company.
The night is spent at Casa Elemento, arguably one of the best hostels in South America, perched almost 1km up into the mountains.
Wake up early, grab some breakfast with a view up in the mountains over Minca, then hop back on the bikes.
The third day we spend a few more hours riding the bikes around the dirt tracks of Minca, visiting waterfalls, viewpoints, swimming holes, and a delicious local cookhouse for lunch. We head back down and return to headquarters around 3pm the final day.
